Toronto Financial District BIA wins Ontario Streetscaping and Public Realm Award

ABOVE: Tim Kocur accepts 2017 Ontario Business Improvement Area Association (OBIAA) Streetscaping and Public Realm Award (Large Budget) on behalf of the Toronto Financial District BIA (4thfrom left). Also accepting the award is Al Smith, Executive Director of the St. Lawrence Market BIA and Mark Garner, Executive Director of Downtown Yonge (6th) along with members of the OBIAA Awards Committee.

The award for collaborative planning on Richmond Street was presented to our Toronto Financial District BIA along with St. Lawrence Market BIA, Downtown Yonge and the City of Toronto.

PROJECT RENDERING: On completion in 2017

Collaboration on Richmond Street improvements between the City and these three BIAs in 2016 included new sidewalks with pavers and tactical surfaces, removal of raised concrete planters and installation of in ground trees with larger soil volume, tree grates and guards. The second phase of work in 2017 will see branded banners, pole wraps and landscaped planters installed in the cycle tracks.
