Style Icon Comes to Bay Street – Christian Louboutin at the Design Exchange

Design Exchange (DX) is thrilled to be the only North American exhibitor of the Christian Louboutin exhibit in their location on Bay Street. This was an incredible opportunity to fulfill the Design Exchange mandate of bringing design in all disciplines to Canada.

The exhibit will take over the Historic Trading Floor of Canada’s Design Museum with a spectacular display of 250-plus shoes, sketches and personal artifacts from the designer alongside visual installations for a truly immersive experience. Traveling from the Design Museum in London, England the exhibition explores Louboutin’s colourful career.

“It’s a proud moment for the Design Exchange to be the host of this awe-inspiring exhibition which highlights exemplary engineering and design,” explains Shauna Levy, President of the Design Exchange.

“As of March 2012, we have been working to reposition the museum with a refined mandate. This exhibition truly embodies our revitalized vision of bringing multi-disciplinary design to the broader public.”

Christian Louboutin was created in 1992 when Louboutin opened his first store at 19 Jean-Jacques Rousseau in Paris. The brand currently has 73 stores worldwide including a number of dedicated Men’s boutiques. A retrospective exhibition of his inventive designs was held in 2012 at London’s prestigious Design Museum and is expected to tour globally beginning in the Summer 2013 with Canada as the first location.
