Toronto’s Financial District is one of the city’s most Instagram-worthy areas! With its soaring towers, bright lights and collection of unique architectural design, it’s no wonder the area is featured on so many Torontonian’s Instagram feeds. We caught up with @razaiphotography who loves capturing the area on his account…
Tell us about yourself:
Currently studying Economics and Psychology at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus. Photography is a hobby that I picked up from my father at a young age, however I’ve been shooting more consistently over the last year or so.
What inspired you to take photos in the Financial District?
Aside from housing some of the most iconic scenery in Toronto, the Financial District is always bustling with life and energy. It also serves as a community hub for many Toronto based photographers, and has led to many friendships over the past few months. It’s a place I constantly return to when looking for inspiration, and I often spend hours in the area contemplating life.
Favourite place in the Financial District to shoot?
Definitely the open space located just beside the TD Centre. There’s just something about jet black skyscrapers that never cease to amaze me. It also serves as a great spot to shoot street photography, allowing me to really capture Toronto’s personality.
What equipment do you use to take/edit your photos?
I currently shoot with a Canon EOS 80D with a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 and a Tamron 18-200 f3.5-5.6.
