On Thursday, November 8, 2018, Design Exchange (DX) puts on its hotly anticipated DX Intersection fundraiser, DXI: Forward. This year, the yearly celebration of multidisciplinary design and visionary leadership names Oliver El-Khatib, co-founder of OVO, as the DXI Awardee.
Oliver El-Khatib co-founded OVO with hip-hop artist Drake and producer Noah “40” Shebib in 2008. Based in Toronto, Oliver is OVO’s strategist-in-chief, and through his decade of leadership he has quickly ascended the cultural ranks as a respected tastemaker and curator who effortlessly moves across creative disciplines. He has been instrumental in brokering partnerships with iconic Canadian brands including Roots and Canada Goose, as well as clinching collaborations with Jordan Brand and Apple Music, where he hosts a show that serves as a platform for emerging talent.
Established in 2012, DXI brings together 1,000 globally-minded art, fashion and design practitioners, enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and philanthropists for an evening celebrating all things creative. DXI has previously awarded iconic Canadians including Douglas Coupland, MAC Cosmetics co-founder Frank Toskan, and Monocle’s Tyler Brulé.
